I hold a supportive and non-judgmental safe space for both partners to feel heard. My role is not to take sides, blame or align with one of the partners. In couples therapy, it is a relationship itself that is a client. My intention is to help you slow down, understand your patterns and reconnect from a place of safety and respect.

My approach to marriage counselling and couples therapy combines relationship science with compassion, emotional clarity and nervous system understanding. I integrate:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps couples:

  • identify emotional patterns

  • understand deeper needs and fears

  • shift out of criticism, withdrawal or reactivity

  • build closeness, trust and secure bonding

In our sessions, we explore the emotional experiences underneath conflict — not just the arguments themselves. Once partners understand each other’s inner worlds, connection becomes possible again.

Gottman Methods

Gottman work provides tools for:

  • communicating more clearly

  • reducing escalation

  • expressing needs without blame

  • resolving conflict constructively

  • strengthening friendship, admiration and shared meaning

These tools help couples create healthier interactions and break recurring patterns.

Attachment-Based & Trauma-Informed Therapy

Our attachment histories influence how we:

  • reach out for comfort

  • respond to distance or conflict

  • express vulnerability

  • protect ourselves emotionally

I support couples in understanding their attachment patterns and how experiences shape interactions. When trauma or painful history is present, we move at a respectful, steady pace that prioritizes emotional safety.

Polyvagal-Informed Nervous System Regulation

Relationships are deeply connected to nervous system states.
When overwhelmed  or triggered, our bodies move into protection mode which can create distance and misunderstandings.

We work with:

  • grounding techniques

  • breath and body awareness

  • regulation skills

  • co-regulation between partners

This helps stay more centered and responsive during difficult moments.
